WORLD’S FIRST ‘RIDE IN’ SCREENING HELD AT ACE CAFÉ FOR DVD LAUNCH OF CINEMANX TT3D WHILE TT STARS CONOR CUMMINS AND RICHARD ‘MILKY’ QUAYLE MEET FANS ON ISLE OF MAN
TT stars Conor Cummins and Richard ‘Milky’ Quayle, one of only three Isle of Man born riders to win a TT Race, met fans at the launch of TT3D on DVD at HMV on the Isle of Man.
The CinemaNX film, which is available in either a DVD pack or 3D Blu-ray Combi pack, gained exceptional box office success, amassing an impressive £1.25 million (e1.454 million) throughout the course of its theatrical release and became the eighth highest grossing documentary of all time in the UK.
As well as the film, which tracks the fortunes of racers such as Guy Martin, Conor Cummins, Ian Hutchinson and John McGuinness at the 2010 race as they race at speeds of up to 200mph, the DVD also comes with never before screened extra’s and behind the scenes interviews with the leading racers.
As part of a high profile promotional campaign, the first ever biker ‘ride-in’ screening was held on Sunday 27th November at the legendary Ace Café in London and the DVD will also benefit from terrestrial and satellite advertising campaign on UK television.
Geoff Corkish, MBE, MHK, Political Member, Isle of Man Tourism, commented:
“The Isle of Man and the TT Races continues to feel the benefit of this fantastic film. TT 3D Closer to the Edge has contributed significantly to the growing profile and interest in the event, as well as the potential increase in visitors in 2012. This will continue not only with the DVD release but also when the film is shown on satellite and terrestrial television.”
The DVD is available from the official iomtt.com website as well as from other leading on-line retailers and stores.
